Description

Elegant caramelized onion and pear crostini with creamy cheese and balsamic glaze.

Ingredients

1 French baguette, sliced

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp butter

2 medium yellow onions, thinly sliced

2 ripe pears, thinly sliced

1 tsp fresh thyme leaves

Salt and pepper to taste

4 oz goat cheese, blue cheese, or brie

1 tbsp balsamic glaze (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Slice baguette and brush with olive oil; toast 8–10 minutes until golden.

3. In a skillet, heat butter and olive oil; add onions.

4. Cook 25–30 minutes over low heat until deeply caramelized.

5. Slice pears thinly and toss with lemon juice.

6. Spread cheese on toasted baguette slices.

7. Top with caramelized onions and pear slices.

8. Sprinkle with thyme and drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired.

9. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Use firm, ripe pears for best texture.

Caramelize onions slowly for rich flavor.

Try goat cheese for tang or brie for creaminess.
