Description
A cozy one-pan dinner that brings all the flavor of a classic burger—juicy beef, caramelized onions, and melted cheese—together in one skillet.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
4 slices cheddar or American cheese
1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
1 tbsp Dijon or burger sauce (optional)
Fresh parsley or green onions for garnish
Serve with toasted buns, rice, or mashed potatoes
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and a pinch of salt. Cook slowly for 10–12 minutes until golden brown and soft. Remove and set aside.
2. Increase heat to medium-high. Divide beef into 4 portions and press each one into the skillet to flatten. Sear for 2–3 minutes until crisp, then flip.
3. Season with pepper and garlic powder. Add onions back into the skillet and drizzle with Worcestershire sauce.
4. Top each patty with cheese and cover briefly to melt.
5. Serve hot with your favorite sides or toasted buns.
Notes
Caramelize onions slowly for best flavor.
Use cheddar or American cheese for classic melt.
Add Dijon or burger sauce for a richer finish.
Serve leftovers over rice or toast for lunch.
