Description
Buttery heart-shaped cookies dipped in rich chocolate for a simple, elegant treat.
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla extract
6 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate, melted
Sprinkles or crushed nuts for decoration (optional)
Instructions
1. Cream butter and sugar until smooth.
2. Mix in egg yolk and vanilla.
3. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until dough forms.
5. Shape into a disk, wrap, and chill 30 minutes.
6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheet.
7. Roll dough 1/4 inch thick and cut heart shapes.
8. Bake 9–11 minutes until edges turn light golden.
9. Cool completely.
10. Melt chocolate and dip half of each cookie.
11. Set on parchment until chocolate hardens.
Notes
Chill dough for clean cutouts.
Use good-quality chocolate for a glossy finish.
Store in airtight container up to 5 days.
