Description
Sweet and salty Christmas Crack toffee candy made with saltines, butter, brown sugar, and chocolate, the perfect easy holiday treat.
Ingredients
1 sleeve saltine crackers
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups chocolate chips
Toppings: crushed candy canes, nuts, or sea salt (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line baking sheet with parchment.
2. Arrange saltines in a single layer.
3. Melt butter and brown sugar; simmer 3 minutes.
4. Pour over crackers and bake 5 minutes until bubbling.
5. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips.
6. Let melt, spread smooth, and top as desired.
7. Cool completely, then break into pieces.
Notes
Line pan well to prevent sticking.
Use dark or milk chocolate to vary sweetness.
Store in airtight container for up to one week.
