Description

A bold and comforting dinner recipe with Cincinnati Chili, savory ground beef simmered with warm spices, served over spaghetti and topped with cheddar, onions, and kidney beans.

Ingredients

1 lb lean ground beef

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

2 Tbsp chili powder

1 Tbsp cocoa powder

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp paprika

1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce

2 cups beef broth

Salt and pepper to taste

1 lb spaghetti

Shredded cheddar cheese

Diced onions

Kidney beans

Hot sauce (optional)

Instructions

1. Brown ground beef in a large pot with onion and garlic until cooked through.

2. Add chili powder, cocoa powder, cinnamon, cumin, and paprika; stir and cook for 1 minute.

3. Stir in tomato sauce and beef broth. Season with salt and pepper.

4. Simmer uncovered for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

5. Cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain.

6. Serve chili over spaghetti, then top with cheese, onions, and kidney beans.

7. Add hot sauce if desired.

Notes

You can use ground turkey for a leaner version.

Store chili and spaghetti separately for better leftovers.

For extra richness, add a dash of Worcestershire sauce or a small square of dark chocolate.
