Description
A bold and comforting dinner recipe with Cincinnati Chili, savory ground beef simmered with warm spices, served over spaghetti and topped with cheddar, onions, and kidney beans.
Ingredients
1 lb lean ground beef
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 Tbsp chili powder
1 Tbsp cocoa powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp paprika
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
2 cups beef broth
Salt and pepper to taste
1 lb spaghetti
Shredded cheddar cheese
Diced onions
Kidney beans
Hot sauce (optional)
Instructions
1. Brown ground beef in a large pot with onion and garlic until cooked through.
2. Add chili powder, cocoa powder, cinnamon, cumin, and paprika; stir and cook for 1 minute.
3. Stir in tomato sauce and beef broth. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Simmer uncovered for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. Cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain.
6. Serve chili over spaghetti, then top with cheese, onions, and kidney beans.
7. Add hot sauce if desired.
Notes
You can use ground turkey for a leaner version.
Store chili and spaghetti separately for better leftovers.
For extra richness, add a dash of Worcestershire sauce or a small square of dark chocolate.
