Description
Buttery, soft Valentine’s thumbprint cookies filled with sweet jam and baked to perfection.
Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup raspberry or strawberry jam
Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment.
2. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Add egg yolk and vanilla; mix until smooth.
4. Stir in flour and salt until dough forms.
5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on sheet.
6. Press thumbprint into each ball and fill with jam.
7. Bake 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
8. Cool completely and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
For heart shapes, press your thumb twice at an angle.
Try different fillings like apricot, cherry, or chocolate ganache.
