Description

Soft, chewy chocolate Valentine cookies topped with festive pink and red sprinkles.


Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

3/4 cup Valentine sprinkles


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment.

2. Beat butter and sugars until fluffy.

3. Add egg and vanilla; mix until smooth.

4. Whisk flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.

5. Combine wet and dry ingredients until dough forms.

6. Fold in half the sprinkles.

7. Scoop dough onto baking sheet and top with remaining sprinkles.

8. Bake 8–10 minutes until edges are set.

9. Cool on baking sheet before transferring to a rack.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill dough for 30 minutes before baking.

Use Dutch-process cocoa for a deeper chocolate flavor.
