Description

Buttery puff pastry, tangy goat cheese, and sweet fig jam come together in these flaky, golden tarts that are easy, elegant, and unforgettable.

Ingredients

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

4 oz goat cheese

1/4 cup fig jam

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Fresh thyme

Salt and pepper

Honey, for drizzling

Optional: Fresh figs, sliced

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment.

2. Lightly flour a surface and roll out the puff pastry to smooth creases.

3. Cut into 6–8 squares and score a 1/2″ border around each (don’t cut all the way through).

4. Spread 1 tsp of fig jam in the center of each tart.

5. Top with goat cheese and sliced figs if using.

6. Sprinkle with thyme, salt, and pepper.

7. Brush pastry edges with egg wash.

8. Bake 15–20 minutes or until puffed and golden.

9. Cool slightly, drizzle with honey, and serve.

Notes

Use any jam you love, apricot, cherry, or balsamic glaze all work.

Add toasted walnuts or pistachios for crunch.

Bake just before serving for best flakiness.
